Commercial Facade Improvement Program

Due to the success of its Commercial Facade Improvement Program the Merritt Island Redevelopment Agency has allocated $150,000 for fiscal year 2008-2009 to the program. This program has been established to assist local business and property owners in aesthetically improving their buildings and/or green areas.

Applicants are eligible to receive up to $15,000 per project per 5-year period on a one-to-one (public to private fund) matching basis.  Approved Facade Application Rev Effective 10-01-08

Key Benefits

  • Aesthetically improved businesses can attract new customers.
  • The SR 520 corridor could receive a "make-over".
  • By improving the look of the existing businesses on the corridor, new businesses may be attracted to the area.
